Prior to Ms. Kim’s appointment, she represented DIR in a number of high-profile litigation matters including:

  • Defending against constitutional challenges to SB 863 and the anti-fraud laws in federal and state courts;
  • Recent California Supreme Court case upholding California’s workplace health and safety standards against federal preemption challenge; and,
  • Cal/OSHA prosecution of SeaWorld.

Prior to joining DIR, Ms. Kim worked in the areas of white-collar criminal law (where she was a trial lawyer in the longest criminal jury trial before the federal court in the central district of California), labor law, and corporate litigation.
